Just got an email from Grant Collier, President of Infinity Ward, concerning the patch and PunkBuster.

Looks like we'll be getting PB after all. Lets hope they can knock out two patches fairly quickly.

Could you pass on to Grant that it is imperitive that PB is integrated into the Linux patch, please. Running PB through Wine usually does not work.

Yay for punkbuster, boo for infinity ward not incorperating into the first patch, which should be done long ago. As matter of fact everybody knows that punkbuster has been out there for a long time and should have been incorperated in the first place.

They had to strike a deal with Evenbalance though, before they could use PB in CoD. That's what took them so long for the AC...Evenbalance wasn't cooperating at all. It's not IW's fault, it's Evenbalances fault for being selfish....

Hey guys I hope you read the post careful and understand it will come out in the expansion pack in October of this years read the last lines the key word here is

I believe that you are the one who read it wrong...he means the next patch in production, not the next product in production (hence the reason he said patch and not product)

I don't think so I also based this on a interview with someone else from Infinity and I also ask question threw a e-mail to the president but with all this being said with all the post from the company on when the patch is coming out first just right after the game then its was in November then in December and then around January 15 of 2004 I'm not sure if they know what they are talking about but here is the link for the second interviewed that happen Janauary 25 2004

its long interview so here is the part that mentions about punkbuster

(Tony): The integration is almost finished. There is still some UI work to be done by Infinity Ward and then the QA testing will begin at Activision. That process usually takes a while and normally more features other than PunkBuster go into a game patch when PB is first released, so I have no idea when the patch with PB will actually be released.

And again so far from interview to interview with the company there not sure whats up

So let me ask you this what do you think they ment by next one in production the key word is IN they already have call of duty out so thats not the next in producted and whats there next plan they have in mind its the expansion pack thats the next in producted becuase it not there yet

IW was willing to spend money on the AC...they weren't willing to spend the kind of money that Even Balance wanted, though...so they had to come to some kind of agreement, which is what took so long.

PB can work fine as long as it also stops servers from adding back doors. Which some do! Then again we've tested PB of RTCW and with a little know how you can walk in with whatever you want. It'll stop the dummies, but not informed cheaters!
The newb cheater is easy to deal with. It's the skilled cheaters that pass along the private hacks that are the real enemy and our inside sources tell us the hack makers can't wait for PB to come out for COD. They say it will take the pressure off them. Bad part is some are from top leagues and clans! A few of our German buds said they have seen some of the PB work around plans! The American version black market disk is already a big seller and it comes modified to run on pure servers so you can make changes to it like MOH. LONG hard battle ahead!

I'm gonna take a guess that you don't speak English very well. So I can probably assume that you are not reading that nice man from IW's post, correctly. Even if you are reading it properly. WHO F***IN CARES!!!!! It'll come out when it comes out!!! What the hells the difference. Either we get it by the end of the week or the end of the year. Please stop, tryin to start feces and ruffle other peoples feathers.

There is a comma in there. He mentions current patch, then he mentions next one in production. Let me translate that for you. Punkbuster will be added to the next patch in production. If it was going to be in the expansion pack he would have said so.

As if this will solve anything... it will rule out most of the inexperienced user h4x0rz, but let me assure you, PB will be bypassed easily for the pro h4x0rz.
