When it comes to the concept of gaming, there has always been a sort of mini-war that goes on between those that play on consoles and those that play on personal computer rigs. The terms “PC Master Race” and “Console Peasants” have often been thrown around—well naturedly, of course!
Today, we wanted to take a side for argument’s sake! We choose the side of consoles. Here are a few things that we definitely believe consoles have over PCs when gaming is involved:
No Compatibility Issues
Compatibility is often a number one game killer in the realm of personal computers. You can buy a game online to find out that your software or video drive cannot run it. A console, however, will have no such issue. The likes of the Xbox and even the PlayStation are all very clear about which games can be run on certain consoles.
The biggest compatibility issue you’ll have is probably buying a game for the wrong console—but then again, that will totally be your fault.
Consoles can brag about how fast the releases are for the games that they are offered. A majority of game developers around the world prioritize consoles over computers. Eventually, there will be a version that PC players can run but that won’t be until around 6 or more months later.
By then, console gamers will be off playing something new—something that PC players will also be waiting months for.
Less Suspects in Errors
When something goes wrong mid-game, usually console gamers will look to any newer patches or the quality of the CD or even the age of the console. They don’t have to check the drivers, the RAM, the mouse, the keyboard, and a laundry list of things that could have been the suspect.
So at the end of the day, console players can be pretty smug about their choice of gaming platform. We’d love to hear from the other side of the civil war? What are your thoughts about the superiority of consoles over PCs?Read More
