When it comes to the concept of gaming, there has always been a sort of mini-war that goes on between those that play on consoles and those that play on personal computer rigs. The terms “PC Master Race” and “Console Peasants” have often been thrown around—well naturedly, of course!
Today, we wanted to take a side for argument’s sake! We choose the side of consoles. Here are a few things that we definitely believe consoles have over PCs when gaming is involved:
No Compatibility Issues
Compatibility is often a number one game killer in the realm of personal computers. You can buy a game online to find out that your software or video drive cannot run it. A console, however, will have no such issue. The likes of the Xbox and even the PlayStation are all very clear about which games can be run on certain consoles.
The biggest compatibility issue you’ll have is probably buying a game for the wrong console—but then again, that will totally be your fault.
Consoles can brag about how fast the releases are for the games that they are offered. A majority of game developers around the world prioritize consoles over computers. Eventually, there will be a version that PC players can run but that won’t be until around 6 or more months later.
By then, console gamers will be off playing something new—something that PC players will also be waiting months for.
Less Suspects in Errors
When something goes wrong mid-game, usually console gamers will look to any newer patches or the quality of the CD or even the age of the console. They don’t have to check the drivers, the RAM, the mouse, the keyboard, and a laundry list of things that could have been the suspect.
So at the end of the day, console players can be pretty smug about their choice of gaming platform. We’d love to hear from the other side of the civil war? What are your thoughts about the superiority of consoles over PCs?
When you want to dabble in online gambling, it is always important to be very careful about the site that you choose to patronize. After all, you never know when it just might be part of a huge scam or mafia ring.
This is quite unfortunate since online gambling can be a fun and harmless way to pass the time. So if you’re looking around the web for a good site, here are a few markers that you can try to find:
Online gambling will always involve money—whether it is digital currency or real world ones—so it always quite critical that the site you choose should have pretty good security measures to keep you safe.
The last thing you need is to log on only to find that your credit card information has been pilfered and now you’re up to your eyeballs in weird purchases.
Serious gambling websites will place importance on the visibility of their customer support. The last thing that they want going around are rumors that they do not help out customers with complaints. You can check out the admin response by sending them an email or reaching them through their contact information.
If you get nothing or only get a canned response, it would be wise for you to look somewhere else for your online gambling needs.
Good sites have a forum where players can talk about relevant news and complaints. This is a sounding board that the site owners can use to determine how happy or upset their client base is. You should try to find out if the site you’re looking at has a forum or at the very least, a discussion board.
These are some pretty good markers that you can try to find in online gambling sites that you’re surveying. We’d love to know your thoughts. What do you look for in sites that prove to you that they’re good or legitimate?
The realm of gaming is one which will always have new offerings as time passes. It is even possible to have several new games out within a single month. With such a thing staring you in the face, what do you need to consider before you decide to buy that new game?
This is something that we asked ourselves in our last meeting. We believe this question needs to be asked as games can be quite expensive—especially if you get a lot of them at one time. We narrowed down the best answers from our think tank and today, we share them with you!
Games—whether it’s a video game, a board game, or even a card game—needs to have replay value in order to at least get your money’s worth out of the thing. One of the worst things that gamers can do is to stock pile up on games that they’ll play once or twice and it’ll never see the light of day again.
It’s wasteful and takes up space. When we buy a new game, we carefully weigh how often we will realistically play it before buying it.
Availability of Tech Support
Games with bugs are awful. They can be the source of countless headaches and you can even feel like you just threw your money down the toilet. This is why the availability of tech support is very important. If a bug shows up in your game, how accessible are the developers? Do they have social media? What are their processes for resolving errors in games?
Knowing the answer to these is always the first step to seeing if you’re buying a good game.
Beyond these two, there were so many answers that we received but it was these that really stood out. No matter how much time has passed, we still rely on these two points to help us determine if a particular game is a good investment or not. What do you consider before you buy a new game?
With so many different entertainment options out there, it is worth wondering why games continue to be popular. Today, we explore this idea further! We believe that this is worth exploring due to the fact that since there a constant stream of movies, TV shows, and even live shows out there—how does gaming as whole maintain a foothold?
Well, we think these are some very solid reasons why:
Triggers Reward Sensors
Gaming—whether it is video games, sports, or even gambling—can actually trigger the part of our brain which release dopamine. This floods our body with “feel good” chemicals making it highly enticing for anyone to play again.
It Presents a Challenge
While routine is nice, it can often grow boring or stale if you keep doing what you’re doing. In order to perk things up a bit, a challenge is usually good. Gaming presents a challenge for most people—regardless of the type of game that you choose.
If you pick video games, you can always increase the difficulty level. If you pick gambling, you never really know the end result so it can be challenging to always try and secure a favorable conclusion for your endeavor. The challenge keeps the interest alive and well.
It’s a Stress Buster
In the world that we live in now, everything can be quite stressful. Stress when prolonged can lead to some pretty drastic declines in one’s health. This is why it is important to find appropriate ways to deal with stress.
One of those things would be gaming. Whether you’re beating up some digital character in a fighting game or hauling fish from an RPG game, you provide yourself with an avenue to forget your troubles and just relax.
With all of these, is still any wonder why gaming remains to be extremely popular? We’d like to know your opinion about gaming’s popularity. Why do you think it manages to stay on?
