I don't know what new weapons are supposed to be in COD2. If the PPS43 is in then definitley this beauty. An unscoped Gewehr 43 would be great (especially if it was modelled decently) as well as the grease gun.

P.S. Is their a confirmed list of weapons somewhere? Supposedly there was to be 15 new weapons....although new also includes weapons we have seen in UO....

All the new weapons, but if I had to choose...

Probably the M3 (or M3A1) "Grease Gun". It interests me from both a historical and game standpoint.

The M3 had a slower rate of fire but weighed less than the M1A1 Thompson...450 vs 700 rpm, and about 8lbs vs. 11lbs. The standard M3 magazine held 30 rounds, most WWII era Thompson mags held 20, although 30 rounders became available as the war progressed. The M3A1 was a simplified M3, the most obvious change being the removal of the cocking lever in favor of just having a hole in the bolt you stuck your finger in.

The M3 replaced the Thompson in 1942, although the Thompsons didn't disappear. The M3A1 showed up very late in 1944. The Grease Gun was reportedly easier to control with the slower ROF and the recoil coming back in a straight line.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with this weapon in CoD2...the slower ROF might be compensated by a faster movement rate and the larger mag, since the Tommys we've seen so far have a 20 rounder.

The same sort of relationship will exist with the PPS42 vs. the PPSH. Slower rate of fire, less weight, although the PPSH did have a 35 round mag from '42 on, something never seen in CoD, where we get only the early 71 round drum mag.

I wonder if the M1 carbine model will have the non-folding wood stock (much more common than the airborne M1A1 we've seen in CoD).

Some weapons we probably won't see, but I'd like to just for the hell of it:

M2 Carbine- semi or full auto, 30 round mag vs. 15 round for the M1

Unscoped Springfield 1903A3

Vickers, DShK, SG-43, M2, M1917 Machineguns

Alternative pistols (P38, Browning, M1917, etc.)
