How about this?
As players progress through a round, their uniform changes depending on many factors

the person with the most kills per team gets a special 'officers' uniform as a reward, If the mode is HQ the person on each team who set up/destroyed the most radios gets a Sergeant or Lieutenent Uniform. The sniper with the msot headshots gets a special rank/uniform

Uniforms depend on the mode. TDM will be based just kill ratios to set up the chain of command. On SD it will be made to encourage players to blow up/defuse

Maybe the highest rank will have a special tools, like a special symbol on radar, the ability to set up a rallying point, and be able to draw up a map(others see on radar) for an attack plan. Of course you can vote in/vote out leaders

And people who keep jumping/proning slowly start to grow rabbit ears

Just what you need, to stand out from the crowd in a firefight... wink.gif

How about after the first round, only the "leaders" get to use the commands, and us "followers" are restricted to responses?

They dont even need bonous, just to make it mor erealistic and interestic, Like having a russian officer or sergeant(Pavlov) on each russian team, or the captain or sergeant from the single player ton the american side, Same with British, Same with Germans

Wouldnt be too much work for a mod. The models and skins already exist, and there doesnt need to be any bonous. Maybe give an extra point for killing them, thus making it more realistic(Enemies would rather shoot Officers than privates)(Probably would need an option to refuses the promotion)

Well, first, I think it should happen when you respawn (although I think that's probably the only way you could get it to work anyway, so that's not an issue). Secondly, I think rather than a high kill number, use the kill ratio! Whenever the ratio of kills to deaths is 80% and up, you get a high-ranking officer's uniform. It's much harder to get a good kill ratio than it is a high score.

And after the game, the officers should have a seperate place to go bend an elbow from the enlisted swine! laugh.gif

HAH! I was thinking of a very similar mod, except it would base rank on health.

All "privates" would get regular damage, sgts take a little less damage (maybe 1 % less) etc... maybe the "general" would take 10%less damage.

and as you progress through the ranks you would get a rank score which would be

kills-deaths + bonus

and that would be your rank.

Bonus would be determined by kill sprees.

IE 4 kills in a row would be 1 point bonus, 7 kills would be 2 points, everyhting after 7 would be an additional 2 point bonus.

Or maybe give people armour, which can also be done. IE make it so that damage is less on them by some multiplier.

This could easily be done in a proper coding environment such as codam, it would be neat to make it so they get special skins too....

I dont really like more helath, that would give them an unfair advantage, making the gap between them and other players a lot larger. UNless you couple that with making them more tasty targets(ie, you get bonous points for killing an officer, thereby officers always get shot at)

Maybe it could go with a new mode, almost exactly like HQ, only that only the officers can set up the HQ. Would be a lot more stragetic, teams laying down covering fire for their commanders to cross and get the radio

It wouldnt be necessarilly giving them more health, just a little bit less damage per shot, which is about the same thing.

BUT, maybe if you kill an officer it goes to your bonus... if he is a higher rank than you are...

It wouldnt take much, 4-5 rssian models already exist(3 in game, http://callofduty.fpscentral.com/images/news/0391/6.jpg )

It doesnt even really matter if it does anything. It be nice tos ee some variation. Everyone is identical(Too much variation is bad too, dont want to see albino midgets in hurtgen)

Did enlisted men in WW2 get pistols, or was it only for officers? That could be something that separates enlisted from officers.

Bong you obviously don't pay too much attention to the skins. They wear a uniform... uniform, but there are a bunch of different variations for each. Each guy has his equipment in different places, put on differently, and some even have some gear other's don't. Having the uniforms be the way they should in relation to history is the best way. The MoH way of having everyone choose whatever they want was horrible.

Canucks suck.

In the army I believe it was generally just the officers who had sidearms. However there may have been circumstances where enlisted men carried sidearms. Say for example if you were part of a tank crew (possibly).

A lot of enlisted US paratroopers were issued pistols. In most other US outfits, officers had sidearms, and the enlisted who had them "aquired" them.

I imagine most other armies were the same.

i think some people are speculating on getting a better camouflage with some skin tongue.gif i´ve no problems with that, since there´s alway forcemodels "1". it was very usefull when some people tried to use the smalles models q2 and q3 and now that cod has the same engine as q3 were going benefit from this long sight. ph34r.gif

Again, this guy's idea doesn't revolve around you chooooooosing your skin, it's assigned to you based on how well you're performing.

I think it's a great idea!

But don't give them bonuses, that would be rather unfair.
If anything, give them disadvantages. cool.gif

Oh, and make it optional.

Why dont you just edit the skins a bit more for each weapon, while the detail is diffrent depending on the weapon, surely slightly diffrent colours on the skins or whatever would do for you lot?
